The
west side of the subdivision has approximately 1500 feet of
Macal River frontage with four river front lots.
All other lots have convenient access to the river by a
common access path for recreational activities such as canoeing,
swimming or sight seeing. All
lots are accessible by an all-weather road and feature
electricity and village well water. Phone service is available
with cell phone coverage. At this time television and internet services are
available only with satellite dish.
The lots all sit high above the river with beautiful river
valley views and picturesque arroyos that attract the Blue
Crowned Mott-Mott and offer great birding and hiking.
Except for the power easement along the road and chopping of property
lines, the terrain has been left as is with many trees.
The subdivision is located 1/2 mile past Cristo Rey
Village
on the road to the Mountain Pine Ridge Preserve in the Maya
Mountains. The village population is predominately of Mayan
heritage with very friendly, helpful neighbors.
There is an abundant work force in the village or in
nearby San Ignacio. Most
people note the cleanliness of the villages, as the
villagers take great pride in their community.
The village offers an elementary school, churches, a
couple of restaurants and grocery stores and a football (soccer) field.
Football is a passion in the village and there is a game most
weekends.
The main road continues to the village of San Antonio
and to the beautiful Mountain Pine
Ridge Preserve, a popular area for inland tourism with attractions such
as the 1,000 foot water fall,
Big
Rock
Falls
, Rio On Pools, Rio
Frio
Cave
and Caracol, the largest Maya site in Belize. Most of the Pine
Ridge is classified as reserve and/or National Park.
